Cooking &
Bakery

Since the outbreak of COVID in 2020, I have been falling in love with cooking when isolating.
Live for love and love for food.

STEAM Education

Science & Technology, interpreted through Engineering & the Arts, all based in Mathematical elements.

These programs aim to teach students innovation, to think critically and use engineering or technology in imaginative designs or creative approaches to real-world problems framed in social studies. I enjoy my time with children. They are so healing!

Feedback From Students:

Selene, you have shown the utmost respect and diligence. Your teaching methods are amazing, keeping us engaged and informed about new Scratch controls and methods. It was great having you as a teacher for Scratch coding this sessions! —— Nicole from CVTC 2020 Summer Camp

  • Tapping-Playground Ball-Kinetic Movement!

    12 Sep 2019

The material shouldn't be a real limit in my opinion, because we can always get something to replace it. How about making a model instead of the true playground ball? It recurred me when the plastic bits dropped into my eyes in the studio. So if I had plenty of space and enough tools or things, I could just move my model onto a real playground.

  • My Studio CT Experiments These Weeks

    02 Mar 2020

In the past few weeks, we have learned the use of many software and hardware machines in Creative Technology Studio. When learning paper slot animals, we have used a laser cutter and adobe illustrator to make interesting little animals. I made an elephant.

  • Digital Fabrication Workshop

    24 Oct 2019

Embroidery machine was difficult to operate because there were some bugs inside of it. Alice, Fei and I, we debugged for so long why it didn't work and finally found the problem on the needle's foot of the machine. But the letters were too small and cannot be really told.

  • Soft Circuits and Wearable Technology

    24 Oct 2019

My idea is Trick or Treat. When you give a lump of candy ( the battery) to the pumpkin's mouth, it will light up the LED on its head! And I chose the trichromatic LED and combined green and blue, because I think this seemed gruesome, haha.

  • Paper Circuits

    24 Oct 2019

I made a pop-up castle. The drawing was a bit difficult, because I had to use the ruler to measure and always kept balance and symmetry. But what even more difficult was to make the pop-up connections...

  • Degugging Circuits, Breadboarding, and Soldering

    14 Nov 2019

I tried to make a rainbow colour lights line (7 colours), but it really hard to make the resistance agree with each colour. So I tried 3 trichromatic LEDs every time. And I made it when each diagonal wire on the whole breadboard touches each other, there will be LED lighted.

  • Interactive - Multiplication Game

    12 Feb 2018

This game is basically based on the variables, such as the multiplicand, multiplicator, and score. Every time you answer correctly, the score will change by 1. But if you answer the question wrongly, the background will show you a glitched emoji.

  • Save the World!

    19 Dec 2019

I used scratch, micro bit, compass sensor, Arduino, distance sensor, neopixel, servo, and Processing program and also some handcraft to tell the whole story! I also tried S4A, Makey Makey, power switch and other kinds of stuff as experience, though at last, I didn't use them.

  • Geometric Drawing Challenges

    19 Sep 2019

N I chose the 'forever' block which I learned at the last section and added the random element, so the background could be like a disco one hahaha. For the former pattern, I'd like to challenge myself to a star, so I could calculate the angle of it. And finally I figured out it was 144 degree!

  • Photomontage Work-in-progress

    26 Mar 2020

The topic is as shown in the middle “Yet another pandemic?”. Since we are now a global village, the people of the world are tightly connected. The recent outbreak of coronavirus quickly spread globally. This allows students to combine their own life with social topics and promote social structural thinking.

  • Sensor Input and Wireless Communication with Micro:bit

    14 Nov 2019

Quinta and I made a fire sensor connected to 2 micro:bits. When the sensor can sense the fire, the main micro:bit A will turn the smile face to the sad one and also send radio to another micro:bit B in the same group. And the micro:bit B will also show sad face immediately.

  • Makey Makey and Human-computer Interfaces

    06 Oct 2019

Connect to Makey Makey. Carry the ground wire with your watch or something. Ask your friends to hold each of the left, up, down and right clips and high five with you! Use Scratch Pen extension and Randomness to make a generative art piece that is different every time you run the sketch.
